Candy Corn
Candy corn is a classic Fall treat that many dolls, as well as people, enjoy. Here is what you will need to make your own doll-sized candy corn out of Sculpey/FIMO. **Please read all of the instructions first.
*Three colors of Sculpey or FIMO (I used FIMO for this one but they’re very similar). For Candy Corn, you’ll need orange, yellow and white. If you want to make Indian Corn, use dark brown, orange and white.
*Something sturdy and flat, like a coaster, that you can use to squish the FIMO.
*waxed paper
*Cookie sheet
*plastic knife.
Step 1: Take a little bit of yellow FIMO and roll it into a hotdog-ish shape. Do the same with the orange and white FIMO. Lay them on some waxed paper with yellow on the bottom, orange in the middle and white on top (for candy corn) or dark brown on the bottom, orange in the middle and white on top (for Indian corn). Make sure the colors are touching.
Step 2: Cover the FIMO with waxed paper and, using the sturdy, flat object, squish the FIMO down. Now the colors should be “hooked” together, as one big piece.
Step 3: Using the knife, cut small triangles in the FIMO (approx. 1/3-1/2″ tall), making sure to get all the colors in there (you can leave a few with just orange at the top).
Step 4: Squish the trianges a tad, so that the edges are rounded (like real candy corn). Then set them on waxed paper on a cookie sheet. Bake according to the FIMO or Sculpey directions-please have an adult supervise if you aren’t allowed to use the oven by yourself-, let cool and you’re done. Now your dolls can enjoy a treat of candy corn. Put some in a little candy jar (a clean, empty baby food jar works well) or have your dolls give and recieve them on Halloween night. Enjoy!
*Note: The candy corn pieces are small, so please keep them in a container or reasealable bag when not in use and keep them out of reach of very young children and pets. Please ask a parent/guardian for help, if you need it.
